Rhode Island Medium Security Adult Correctional Institution

The Medium Security Adult Correctional Institution was constructed on a site within the existing correctional complex. RGB, in association with the Voinovich Companies, completed this $73 million project in phases.

The 316,037 square foot facility was originally designed to house 600 inmates within six housing modules. RGB provided architectural services for upgraded security, visitation, segregation, administration, and gatehouse maintenance. RGB also designed laundry, education, cafeteria, industry and autobody, greenhouse, recreational facilities, medical facilities including a six-bed unit, observation and isolation section, phlebotomy unit, exam rooms, dental offices, and laboratories and x-ray areas.
