William L. Callahan Elementary School
Burrillville, RI
Located close to the scenic crossroads at the center of Burrillville, William L. Callahan Elementary School had not been expanded or modernized since the early 1970s. RGB performed in-depth analysis and feasibility study to assist the Town in implementing goals as established. A modern three-story infill building served as a dramatic new entrance to the school while seamlessly joining two existing buildings together. RGB also assisted with pre-referendum services.
The $6 million project included ADA upgrades, 16 new classrooms, improvements in guidance and administration areas, library and media center upgrades, a new gymnasium, and new computer lab. Features included insulated glass, white EPDM roof, and energy efficient lights and mechanical equipment.
